There are 186 waterfalls in Iran due to its mountainous feature, which are the most spectacular attractions for tourists and holding Iran waterfalls tours. Mazandaran and Lorestan are respectively the provinces of Iran which have the most waterfalls.

The weather is getting warmer and places with pleasant weather are very popular for travelling. In spring; particularly, the trees' leaves are green and pleasing to the eye. Waterfalls are among places which are very crowded in holidays and even in the weekends because they are located in regions with good climate, regions that have mountains and they are mostly forested.  

It is interesting to know that Iran has about 43 famous waterfalls which reach to 186 by counting local and seasonal waterfalls. Mazandaran province possesses the most waterfalls and cascades among all the other provinces of the country. Subsequently, Lorestan with 45 waterfalls is in the second place. In the following, some of the most popular and beautiful waterfalls of Iran are introduced.

Bisheh waterfall

Bisheh waterfall is one of the beautiful waterfalls of Lorestan province and Iran. The waterfall is situated within Zagros Mountains in Dorud County, in a distance of 35 kilometers to Dorud city.

This waterfall is located adjacent to Tehran- Khuzestan railway and in the proximity of Bisheh station; therefore, it hosts annually many travelers and tourists from all around the country.   

Bisheh Waterfall with its breathtaking view is one of the rarest and most spectacular waterfalls in Lorestan province. The waterfall height is 48 meters and there is also 10 meters distance to Sezar River and the waterfall crown is 20 meters in width.

In front of the station, multiple springs full of water can be observed on the top of the waterfall, which originate from the mountain. While the springs whispering, they pass from the middle of the train station and forming Bisheh Waterfall.

Cool and refreshing weather, and the lush and green mountains turn Bisheh to a must see and attractive destination for tourists.

There are tourist sites by Sezar River in the road of Dorud County towards the waterfall such as seasonal and permanent cascades, ice waterfalls in winter and various trees. There is a 64 kilometers distance between this amazing waterfall and Khorramabad city.

Ab Sefid Waterfall

Ab Sefid Waterfall is also a scenic and must visit waterfall in Zalghi, Aligudarz region and it is located in a 50 kilometers distance to this city. This waterfall is 65 to 70 meters in height and the crown height reaches approximately to 8 meters in rainy seasons. The water of this waterfall originates from a tunnel within a stone mountain which is very cool.

This waterfall is linked to Rudbar stream in Lorestan; and eventually, it falls into Dez River. The waterfall name means white water that some are on this belief that the water combines with the air and forms white bubble while hitting stones.

Mohamed Hassan shrine is located along the access path to this waterfall that is deeply respected by residents of Bakhtiari districts. The access path to Ab Sefid Waterfall passes Kakolestan and Qolian villages, accompanies you with high mountains and the eye-catching oak and walnut trees. There is a car path from Aligudarz city to Ab sefid Waterfall.

Angelica Waterfall

Angelica Waterfall is the highest waterfall of Lafour district; its altitude is above 220 meters. The beautiful forested route and the geographical location turn this waterfall to one of the most famous waterfalls of the district which provides an opportunity for tourists to enjoy the nature. The highest waterfall in the forests of Lafour district was identified by the effort of tourism committee of Northern Savadkuh as "Angelica" with an elevation of 220 meters. There are three different routes to access Angelica waterfall as: Kalikola, Galesh Kola, Raies Kola.

This waterfall is located in a 3 kilometers distance to Kalikola village in Lafour which can provide the opportunity for employment and also tourism for nature lovers by creating an access path.

Eighty four waterfalls were identified in northern Savadkuh with an elevation of 50 to 280 meters that they should be introduced to tourists to enjoy the nature. Lafour is a forested district with pleasant weather that is located in a 20 kilometers distance to south east of Qaemshahr.

Ab-Pari Waterfall

Ab-Pari Waterfall is situated in Nur, Mazandaran province. This waterfall is in a 5 kilometers distance to Nur city, in the proximity of Royan city. In Ab-Pari, trees are next to each other with a short distance and most of the regions are remained pristine and intact. This district is the neighbor of Kojur and Yush. Ab-Pari waterfall does not resemble to ordinary waterfalls since a part of mountain stones are accumulated in the sharp slope of the mountain and just a narrow stream flows within these stones. Nevertheless, numerous tourists visit this site in holidays and weekends. There is about 10 degrees centigrade difference between temperature of this district and Royan city. Forest trees can be observed in lowlands and pine trees in uplands.

This forested- mountainous road ends in Kojur where has the access to "Kandolus", "Doab" and "Marzanabad". There is an exit along the path for connection to "Yush" (birthplace of Nima Yooshij) and "Baladeh" but in comparison, Royan Jungle Park and Ab-Pari waterfall are closer. Ab-Pari road has the same width as Chalus road but there are abundant spaces for camping on its surrounding that every tourist can easily find a cozy place to put up a tent.
